DAC (Direct Attach Copper) Cables: DAC cables are high-speed data cables with integrated active electronics, typically used for short-distance connections within data centers and networking environments. DAC cables use copper conductors to transmit electrical signals, and the integrated electronics help to boost signal integrity and reduce signal degradation over short distances.
AOC (Active Optical Cables): AOCs are cables that use optical fiber for transmitting data signals over longer distances compared to traditional copper cables. AOCs integrate active optical components, such as lasers and photodiodes, within the cable ends to convert electrical signals into optical signals and vice versa. These cables are used for applications requiring high data rates and low latency, such as data center interconnects, high-performance computing, and video streaming.
AEC (Active Ethernet Cables): AECs are similar to AOCs but are specifically designed for Ethernet networking applications. They combine the benefits of optical fibers with the convenience of Ethernet connectivity.
