Barium-zinc heat stabilizer, also known as barium-zinc heat stabilizer, is a commonly used heat stabilizer used to improve the thermal stability of polymers at high temperatures. It usually consists of a mixture of barium and zinc compounds. Barium-zinc type thermal stabilizers have multiple thermal stabilization mechanisms in polymers. Among them, barium compounds (such as barium stearate, barium peroxide, etc.) can form stable barium chloride by reacting with hydrogen chloride in the polymer, thereby preventing the thermal degradation reaction from proceeding. Zinc compounds (such as zinc oxide, zinc stearate, etc.) can delay or inhibit the oxidative decomposition of polymers by capturing free radicals and stabilizing chain ends. Barium-zinc type heat stabilizers are often used in the processing of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and other plastics to improve their thermal stability under high temperature conditions. During the processing of PVC, the barium-zinc heat stabilizer can stabilize the polymer molecular chain, reduce or prevent the occurrence of thermal degradation reactions, and prolong the service life of PVC products.
