Bayonet nut connector is a type of electrical connector used to secure and connect two or more electrical conductors together. It consists of a male connector with a series of pins or blades and a female connector with corresponding slots or receptacles. The connectors are locked by a quarter turn when mated, and can be easily unlocked and pulled apart with minimal force.
BNC connectors are commonly used for RF signal transmission, including analog or digital video signal transmission, amateur radio antenna connection, aviation electronics equipment and other electronic test equipment. They are also used in some communication systems, such as E1 interface in network devices.
BNC connectors have two versions: 50 ohms and 75 ohms. The 50 ohms connectors are used for data and RF transmission, while the 75 ohms connectors are used for video and DS3 transmission to telephone company central offices. The different versions of connectors are compatible with each other, but may cause signal reflection if the cable impedance is different.
BNC connectors can usually operate up to 4 GHz or 2 GHz. They have a characteristic impedance of 50 ohms or 75 ohms, a voltage rating of 1500 V, a contact resistance of less than 2 mohms for inner conductor and less than 0.2 mohms for outer conductor, an insulation resistance of more than 5000 Mohms, a voltage standing wave ratio of less than 1.3 and a durability of 500 cycles。
