A capacitive type dew point sensor is a device that measures the dew point temperature of a gas or moisture in the air. It works on the principle of measuring the change in capacitance due to changes in the relative humidity of the surrounding air. The sensor consists of two electrodes, one of which is coated with a hygroscopic material which absorbs moisture from the surrounding environment. As the moisture content of the hygroscopic material changes, the capacitance between the electrodes changes, which is then converted into a dew point temperature reading.
