A digital torque sensor is a sensor device used to measure and monitor torque (moment). It can convert the torque exerted by the object into an electrical signal output and provide digital torque measurement results. A digital torque sensor typically consists of a torque sensor element, signal conditioning circuitry, and a digital interface. The torque sensor element is the core part of the sensor, which can be designed based on the principles of strain gauge, electromagnetic induction or capacitive induction. When the object exerts torque, the sensor element will sense the corresponding deformation or electromagnetic signal, and convert it into an electrical signal output. Signal conditioning circuits process and amplify these electrical signals to ensure accurate measurement and transmission.
