A dual absolute encoder is an encoder that can output two absolute position information at the same time, one is the position of the motor shaft, and the other is the position of the robot arm joint. In this way, it can achieve full closed-loop control and improve the accuracy and stability of the robotic arm. Dual absolute encoders can also be used to measure the output torque of a joint by comparing the error values ??of the two encoders. The principle of dual absolute encoder is to install an absolute encoder on the motor shaft to detect the rotation speed and position of the motor. Install another absolute encoder on the robot arm joint to detect the angle and position of the joint. The signals from the two encoders are transmitted to the controller through an interface. The controller calculates the actual position and desired position of the joint based on the data from the two encoders, and then adjusts the drive current of the motor to make the joint reach the target position.The advantage of the dual absolute encoder is that it does not require a counter, does not require a zero point or a reference point, is not affected by power outages or interference, and each position has a unique code that can be read directly.
