Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring is a technology that uses various neurophysiological techniques to monitor the integrity of the nervous system function in a dangerous state during surgery, and prompts the operator to take intervention measures to eliminate or minimize nerve damage. The two main pathophysiological processes it monitors are ischemia and mechanical injury, including both monitoring and localization techniques. Monitoring is the continuous intraoperative assessment of the functional integrity of neural pathways. The interpretation standards of intraoperative nerve electrophysiological examination and diagnostic examination are completely different. The measurement results are compared with the baseline measured after anesthesia, or before and after a special operation, rather than compared with normal laboratory standards. In addition, electrophysiological signals are recorded from anesthetized patients, so attention should be paid to the influence of changes in anesthesia drugs and physiological factors such as blood pressure and body temperature of patients on intraoperative recording signals.
