The Oil-free Vicat Tester is an instrument for measuring the Vicat softening point of cement, concrete and other construction materials. It is a variant of the Vicat hardness test. The Vicat softening point test is one of the common methods for evaluating the softening and flow properties of materials such as cement and concrete at high temperatures. The traditional Vicat test uses oil as the measurement medium, but there may be environmental and health and safety issues in using oil.
